Nelson Varas, Chief Executive Officer (Capt. ARNG) Head of Operations
Nelson Varas is the Co-Founder and CEO of EYE WITNESS Security, LLC, Inc. In the wake of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Mr. Varas's vision was to build a protective services company based on the principles he learned in the Military Defense Forces. From its humble beginnings in December of 2001, EYE WITNESS Security, Inc.™ has grown under his direction to a Statewide Security Services company with offices in California. He brings over 25 years’ experience in the security industry, an in-depth understanding of security technology and tremendous business savvy to our firm. His vision allows us to provide the highest level of service to our clients by staying ahead of trends in security, technology and business.
Leo Gilbert, Chief Executive Officer (Army Veteran) Head of Operations
Leo Gilbert Co-Founder and CEO of EYE WITNESS Security, Inc.™ in 2016, after nearly two decades of service with the LAPD, bringing his expertise in combating crime and counter terrorism to the private security sector. His insight, dedication and ethics caused him to rise through the ranks of the LAPD beginning his career as a Police Officer and being promoted to Detective Investigator, Sergeant and Lieutenant by the time he retired from active duty. During his career with LAPD, he directly supervised thousands of law enforcement officers and participated in all levels of law enforcement work from uniformed patrol to plainclothes undercover enforcement. Leo is responsible for planning and overseeing all security operations of the firm, providing security consulting, training, presenting security seminars and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for each client. His unique understanding of the city and his ability to work well with people from any walk of life are strengths that help EYE WITNESS Security, Inc.™ to truly excel. He utilizes many of the strategies and policies employed by the law enforcement community, and applies them to the various levels of security needed in the private sector.
Hector Salazar, (U.S.M.C. Veteran) Chief Operations Officer of Business Development As a COO of Business Development for EYE WITNESS Security, Inc., Hector Salazar serves as the liaison between our firm and many of our clients, ensuring that each of them receives the highest level of personalized customer service. Mr. Salazar joined EYE WITNESS Security, Inc.™ also a Co-Founder brings a wealth of experience in business, real estate and property management. The depth of her knowledge has assisted us in becoming a specialist in the world of real estate, development and property management, incorporating it all into superior security services for our clients. He is fluent in English and Spanish and is a graduate of Cal-State San Bernardino University where he received her degree in Criminal Justice. He is also a veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps (U.S.M.C.).
Derwin Holt, (Veteran) Chief Operations Officer of Business Development
As a COO of Business Development for EYE WITNESS Security, Inc., Hector Salazar serves as the liaison between our firm and many of our clients, ensuring that each of them receives the highest level of personalized customer service. Poncho James also a Co-Founder of EYE WITNESS Security, Corp™ since 2016 and has held various supervisory positions. He oversees all Field Operations due to his exceptional work ethics and experience. He is currently responsible for supervising field employees, providing employee direction, feedback and monitoring staff performance. He conducts budget reviews, tracks expenses, recommends improvements and coordinates development and implementation of our on-site technology. Poncho has over 10 years of experience in the security industry. Professional experience and Security experience and expertise has helped distinguish EYE WITNESS Security, Inc.™ within the industry. He is a graduate of University of California where he received his degree in Business Administration.
